Property Ownership
Properties can be purchased that are privately owned and can be used for personal use as a holiday home or for private self-catering holiday rental. These apartments are sold furnished and are key ready. These can be managed for owners who do not wish to be in the hotel rental scheme and want to do private holiday rentals.
Properties can also be purchased within the Melia Hotel Scheme which means that the hotel rents and manages the property for owners and pay a quarterly rental return through the developer, The Resort Group. Owners get 5 weeks of personal use with 2 weeks being between October and April and 3 weeks from May to September. Rental income depends on occupancy (No guaranteed income).
All new owners are legally obligated to pay the Condominium Fees (called the Resort Management Fee in Tortuga) and the annual IUP property tax (paid to the local Municipality).
